We’re gearing up for the latest quiz and a warm welcome at the Weary Friar, our local pub. The quiz is being run by the Friends of Pillaton Church and despite it being good fun, the competition is always fierce! Moreover, we might book a table and go down early to sample some of Ryan & Trina’s fab pub food. It’s only a 15 minute walk from Rowse and is dog friendly, warm and welcoming.
Just recently Trina has added some comfy sofas, creating a lovely snug area. Lots of our guests enjoy the walk up to the pub and in the early evening you can see Caradon Mast across the valley, up on Bodmin Moor. However, for those less inclined to walk there they do have a large car park at the front of the pub. The Weary Friar’s most recent claim to fame was as a filming location in the popular TV series Beyond Paradise https://shiptonabbott.com when there was much excitement in the village!
