Friendly Dogs Welcome at Rowse Farm
Our human guests are very important to us, but we also love our furry friends and would be delighted to welcome your doggy to Rowse.
Each cottage can comfortably accommodate one small to medium sized dog (10-25kg). We can take larger dogs (eg. Labrador, Retrievers) or even two small ones but we would ask you to check with us first, just to make sure the doggy and cottage are compatible!
We provide a doggy welcome pack, which includes some dog treats, poo bags, a dog-friendly tennis ball and the use of water bowls and doggy towels during your stay. We have spare leads in case you have forgotten yours and Rowse dog tags, just in case “Rover” becomes missing in action, due to the new surroundings.
We can even supply a crate (if doggy likes) if you’re going out for the evening and leaving your doggy behind. Please note that we do not supply pet bedding.
There is charge of £35 per dog, per stay, payable at time of booking.
There is plenty of space to exercise your doggy at Rowse, both fields and a woodland trail. The woodland has a small brook for dogs to have a paddle or a swim and 5 of our fields are enclosed, allowing guests and their dogs to exercise freely, providing they follow the » Countryside Code.
To make sure everyone has the best time, we would respectfully ask that dog owners follow a few Doggy Do's and Don’ts;
Guest Dog Rules at Rowse Farm
Do's and and Don'ts
- We want your dogs to have a great holiday, and we understand that great holidays for dogs can include getting wet, muddy and sandy! Please help us to maintain our beautiful cottages by ensuring that doggy is clean before being allowed back into the cottage. There is a hose at the end of the stable block and additional doggy towels are available by request.
- When other guests are around or in their gardens (which are not enclosed), excitable dogs must be kept on leads. They can run free when exercising in one of the fields (there will always be at least one available), or in the woodland, at your discretion.
- Please do not leave your dog unaccompanied in the cottage unless crated. We can provide you with crates for the purpose, but in a strange place, dogs can get more anxious than when at home, which can lead to destructive behaviour.
- Dogs are not allowed on the beds (Lovely bedding and doggy paws don’t mix!). If doggy wants to cuddle up on the sofa, we understand but please use the throws provided - This will keep the amount of dog hair to a minimum and help with the cleaning, as some of our future guests may be allergic.
- Any damages or soiling caused by your dog during your stay will be your responsibility, and you accept to cover the cost of any repairs or excess cleaning.
The Tamar Valley is a largely dog friendly area but to plan your holiday, we have noted the places in our “Things to do” section places that are dog friendly.
