Such friendly hosts, everything lovingly decorated and clean. And it’s very, very quiet here.
Rowse Farm is tucked away on the edge of the Tamar Valley, a National Landscape (Formerly called an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Our peaceful pocket of tranquility is surrounded by trees and fields, however we are well placed for you to explore both the moors and sea – less than 30 minutes drive away. In addition to stunning wide open spaces and fresh air there’s a huge range of things to do to keep you entertained, interesting places to explore and many great places to eat, drink and be merry.
Rowse Farm has three holiday Cottages: Tikkidew, Skyber and Kellywyk are in row with their own private, secluded space. They are perfect individually or could be booked as a group if you wish to holiday with other friends or family members.

Skyber is a superb family cottage offering excellent accommodation for 4 people (+ cot) and your dog! The cottage is well equipped and has two large double/twin bedrooms with super king sized double beds (or singles) and two shower rooms (one en-suite). Skyber, as with all our cottages is south facing, ensuring you can soak up those final rays of sunshine whilst you dine al fresco.
Kellywyk is also dog friendly so you can bring both your loved ones (!) Beautifully presented, Kellywyk is the old cider press, which has been converted into a compact, well designed, contemporary accommodation. There is a large en-suite bedroom with a super king, or 2 single beds. This cottage has a large private outdoor space to enjoy outdoor meals and relaxing on comfy loungers.

“Had the most wonderful week in Tikkidew. The cottage is truly tranquil in an idyllic location. Kirsty & Barry couldn’t be more helpful directing us to some beautiful parts of Cornwall, recommending local pubs, villages and walks to visit. This is a hidden gem. We will be coming back.”
“I spent about four days here and everything about it was perfect the communication with the hosts was great all the way through and the hospitality was exceptional. The place was kept in immaculate condition and iwas greeted with scones and cream on my arrival. Accommodation is perfectly located it’s very remote and really tranquil and relaxing with amazing views. Barry and Kirstie are really nice and also enjoy the surrounding areas as well so it was really nice to share experiences over a few days that I was there. I have been to Cornwall a few times before but not back to the same place until finding this cottage and will definitely be booking again. If I’m gonna be honest I don’t really want to review this because I don’t want too many people finding out how good it is a but all in all it is really good.”
“Gorgeous location and fantastic hosts – the cottage was spotless, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay – it was the perfect spot to unwind. We did a lot of great day trips with some helpful tips from Barry, especially a lovely trip to Tavistock. Will definitely be back!”
“Kellywyk is a super converted farm building, with excellent outside space to make the most of the very peaceful rural setting. The owners Barry & Kirsty were very attentive on arrival, but also respected our privacy. Brilliant rural position, deceptively spacious & comfortable. Lovely outside space & seating to relax in. Very enjoyable place to stay & switch off.”
“Excellent 10/10. Location is perfect for exploring. Lots of places within an hour with the added bonus of a Michelin starred restaurant a 5 min drive! The bakery is well worth a visit. Grounds to the accommodation are great. The cottage has everything you need, with the beds in the master bedroom being the comfiest we have slept on for a long while! The owners are very friendly and accommodating and their suggestions list was superb. We worked through a large portion of them with enough to warrant a second visit soon! Would highly recommend the cottage, location and the owners! Superb break!”

Well behaved canine companions are welcomed to stay at our cottages, one dog per property. We ask that dog owners keep their four-legged friends on a lead at all times, respecting other guests and any livestock that may be in nearby surrounding fields.
There are a plethora of excellent river walks, woods, fields, vast moorland areas and dog friendly beaches in Cornwall for your happy hound to run free. Here is a link to which Cornish beaches are dog friendly and which ones have restrictions.
It’s possibly useful to know that our nearest local pub, the Weary Friar Inn at Pillaton, is 15 mins walk (0.7 miles) and very dog friendly.

Barry & Kirsty
After meeting on the “Clipper Round The World Yacht Race”, and previously spending many years living in the busy cities of London and York, we decided to move to the relaxing West Country to enjoy a better lifestyle. After much research, we bought Rowse – a 400 year old farmhouse & estate. Previous owners worked hard to restore it and it is now a beautiful home for us & our guests to enjoy.
We bought Rowse because of its secluded, peaceful location & its beautiful 40 acres of woods, pasture, streams & gardens. It is important to us that our guests enjoy their holiday, and as self catering cottage users ourselves, we make sure our 3 cottages are comfortable, clean, well equipped and most importantly fun to stay in.
We are confident that you will enjoy your stay and all that the West Country has to offer!
