We love sharing the simple joys of country life with our guests at Rowse—and that includes our friendly chickens! Living comfortably in their cosy coop, our hens enjoy a happy and stress-free life. They scratch around in their free range environment and provide us with three delicious eggs every day.
The Chicken Coop
Our chickens have a spacious and secure home, designed to keep them safe and comfortable. The automatic door of their coop opens at dawn and closes at dusk, ensuring they can follow their natural routine without any disturbances. The attached run gives them plenty of space to roam, scratch, have dust baths, sunbathe and peck at the ground, keeping them active and content. There is always an opportunity for our guests to meet our happy hens at Rowse!
Fresh Farm Eggs for Our Guests
Thanks to our hardworking hens, we collect three fresh eggs every day. We love being able to share this little farm-to-table experience with our guests, offering them fresh eggs to enjoy during their stay. Whether you fancy a boiled egg for breakfast, a tasty omelette, or some home baking, there’s nothing quite like eggs straight from the farm!
The Grandkids and the Chickens
The grandkids LOVE the chickens and are always keen to rush to feed them when they come to stay, although they’re not always as keen to clean them out! However, they do love cuddles and get excited when they open the roosting box and 3 eggs are sitting there waiting to be collected. The look on their faces is priceless. They have recently named the 3 laying hens as Betty, Rachel and Yelena. The big, older hen doesn’t lay anymore and she’s just called “Chicken!”
